You shouldn’t let a fire pit burn overnight unattended. Some fire pits are safer than others, but even if you have a very safe one, it’s still best to put out the fire before going to sleep. Unless of course you’ll be spending the entire night around it with your friends.
Do fire pits keep mosquitoes away?
Fire pits make smoke which can deter the mosquitoes for bothering you while hanging around the fire pit. However, fire pit smoke alone isn’t an optimal defense against mosquitos.
Consider using citronella oil and other mosquito repellant plants which you may plant close to the fire pit for extra defense.
Does a fire pit need holes?
Fire pits need air holes for oxygen to sustain the flames. This could mean that you may have to drill some holes at the base of a metal bowl fire pit. Holes are also needed for water to drain.
